Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir

Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir, Malegaon Camp owes its existence to the inspiration, pioneering work and farsightedness of its founder member, Hon'ble Late Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hiray, a staunch freedom fighter, one of the pioneers of forming of Maharashtra state and co-operative movement in Nashik District, an educationist and Ex-Revenue minister of then Bombay province. He has founded the two well-known educational institutions in Nashik District, namely "Adivasi Seva Samiti" in 1945 and "Mahatma Gandhi VidyaMandir" in 1952. The major objective of these institution was to provide the educational facilities to the masses from all the spheres , urban, rural and tribal. In 1959, he started a senior college at Malegaon. This gave a great boost to all the students in the North Maharashtra to achieve higher education goals.

Special Features

  • Students’ Grievance Committee: The committee looks into the problems of students. The students can approach the committee for their academic, administrative and personal problems in the college.

  • Anti-Ragging Committee : The Anti-Ragging Committee established in the college looks in to the problems faced by the victims of ragging .

  • Students’ Council : Under The University Act class representatives are nominated on merit basis to form the Students’ Council. The Council plays an active role in various curricular and extra-curricular activities held throughout the year.

  • Students’ Welfare Schemes :
    1) M.G.Vidyamandir : This Scheme is governed by M.G. Vidyamandir, Nashik and it provides support to meritorious economically backward students.
    2) University : Governed by University of Pune Rs.10/- are deducted at the time of Admission. All Students are members of the fund.

  • Hostel:Hostel facility is available in the college campus for both girls and boys.

  • Placement Cell: There is a placement cell for Final Year Students which arranges campus interviews in which reputed industries participate. The cell plays a key role in facilitating students with good job opportunities.

  • Annual Magazine : The college publishes an Annual Magazine entitled “Parijat” which provides a creative and imaginative platform for our students.

  • Qualified Staff : We have Qualified Teaching Staff for providing good teaching quality to the student

  • Tours and Excursions : Tours and Excursions are organized by various departments as practical knowledge is necessary for the overall development of the students.
